First you have to install IIS Metabase Compatibility. This is done by opening the Server Manager from your start menu. Once the Server Manager has loaded look on the left-hand side, click on Manage Roles and then Web Server (IIS). Check the box next to IIS Metabase Compatibility which is located under Management tools, IIS 6 Management Compatibility.

Now it is time to install ASP.NET 1.1. First download these three packages and run them. You will receive a warning that it won’t work. The reason this message comes up is because these applications are 32-bit only and IIS7 runs in both 32-bit and 64-bit. So if you tried to mix the 64-bit application pools with 32-bit application pools your application would crash, hence the compatibility issue. You have to install all 3 of these ASP.NET packages or it will crash on your system. This is because Windows 2008 has Data Execution Protection and the older ASP.NET is not compliant without Service Pack 1.

Now you must enable the ASP.NET ISAPI extension. To do this open a command prompt as administrator and run “%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis –enable”. Easy enough right?

Now you have to edit the machine.config or else ASP.NET will throw runtime exceptions. To do this open %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\config\machine.config in notepad as administrator and add the following code just above </configSections>:

<section name=”system.webServer” type=”System.Configuration.IgnoreSectionHandler, System, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089″ />

Save the file and then move your domain to the ASP.NET 1.1 application pool via the IIS manager. Once you have done this your website will be using 32-bit ASP.NET 1.1. I hope this has been helpful as this turned out to be quite an annoyance for me. While transitioning to Windows 2008 seems to be quite difficult I feel that things will get easier as time progresses. I just wish Microsoft had put more care in supporting their older technologies to ease the transition.

Today I installed IIS in my windows, it worked…. OMG i just remembered i had installed XAMPP (the windows flavor of Apache, MySQL, Perl and PHP) as well and when i started running it the Apache Server couldn’t get started. When i looked for the issue i could see that IIS uses port 80 for its functioning so Apache of XAMPP couldn’t get started. I guess most of the Web Developers who needs to install both services might be facing this problem, As i did. Today i got a solution for that.

Snap Shots: This is a snapshot when i try to run apache, the service of Apache couldn’t get started. [IIS has already been installed and it doesn't allow to use port 80]

There are two ways to solve this:

• Either change IIS (the harder way)
• Change the Apache config (the easier way)

from both way you’ll achieve the same thing. Personally I went the Apache route and here’s how I did it (using XAMPP ).

Only one way Change the  Default Port

By default IIS uses ports 80 and 443 for HTTP and HTTPS access respectively. By default, Apache also assumes these same settings. By altering two config files in Apache you can easily over-ride this:

Steps to go:

Firstly find xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf

• Find Listen :80 …. Change to 81 [this tells Apache to listen to all IP addresses on port 81]
• Again find ServerName localhost:80 change it to 81

Secondly find xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-ssl.conf

• Find Listen 443…. Change to 442 [This changes the SSL (HTTPS) port to 442 (or again, your port of choice).]

Snap Shot : I edit the two files as mentioned above.

Finally You are done….Enjoy Both Servers at the same time

The Service had been Started after editing 2 files.

STEP 4 Click on Admin Login and the click on the Router Tab. Choose the Internet type in the drop down.

In this article I’m going to give you a look at the installation process. However, before installing the TMG, you need to know the following:

• TMG will only run on 64-bit Windows Server 2008. There will be a 32-bit demo version after the TMG goes RTM, but there won’t be any beta versions that run on 32-bit Windows
• TMG requires at least 1 GB of memory (it will probably run on less, but not very quickly)
• 150 MB of disk space
• At least one NIC (although I always recommend two or more NICs to provide true security)
• You must install to the default folder on the C: drive
• TMG will install IIS 7 on your machine in order to support SQL reporting services. If you remove TMG from the machine, II7 will not be removed for you and you will need to do that manually
• Services and driver files for the TMG are installed in the TMG installation folder
• For the beta 1 version of the TMG, the TMG machine must be a domain member. In future betas, non-domain membership will be supported.

Prerequisites :

To install any software package on remote system of the domain we have to download it msi file it can be found on the internet you can download it easily..

Configuration :

After downloading msi package put it on to any location and share that folder. And set sharing permissions and folder permission to local group users.

Software installation through GPO can be done on any particular OU in order to do this follow these steps.

–> Start –> All Programs

–> Administrative Templates

–> Group Policy Management Console

–> in this select that OU on which you wan’na apply policy

–> For Beautification we do some extra Edit Default GPO for the UNC Path

–> Click on the OU  and select GPO and Disable UNC and select Edit by double Click.

–> Goto the Computer Configurations –> Policies. –> Windows Settings.

–> Security Settings –> Local Polices –> Security Options

–> and select User Access Control Elevation behavior for Administrators Accounts

–> Double click the Policy and Select “elevate without Prompting”

–> select “UAC Detect application Prompt” make it “Disable”.

–> Select “UAC Only Elevate user access application interface.  And make it “Disable”

–> Select UAC Run all administrators in admin approval mode. set to Disable.

–> after this setting you needto make new GPO

–> to make new GPO right click on OU and select.

–. Create a New GPO in this Domain and link it to the OU.

–> Give Name to the OU. And click ok.

–> then right click on new GPO and Select edit.

–> now new windows pops-up of Group policy Management Editor. In this window.

–> goto Computer configuration à Policies à Software Installation

–> right click on the Software Installation and select New Package.

–> Browse UNC Path for the msi file

Note : “path should belike this \\UNCPath\folder\msifilename

eg : \\10.1.1.1\software\firefox.msi

–. or you can browse via windows in Network’s Tab. locate the file and select and then click ok.

–> In next windows Select “Assigned” and click OK.

“By selecting assigned when user login software install automatically without prompting”

–> Now Goto the workstation and reboot the computer or type command on CMD

–> goto RUN and Type gpupdate /force

That command will give you the option that your system will reboot in a minute after reboot when you login software will automatically install without Prompting.

Cause for the above error

1. Mysql crashed or mysql stopped
2. Either the vicidial server shutdown all of sudden due to powercut or imporper shutdown (pressing the powerbutton directly).
3. Overload of server leads to mysql crash.
4.  Shortage of Hard disk space.

i have 2 ways to get off the SIP bruce attacks

1- use filter iptables rules.

2- use mangle table markers to stop or filter unwanted traffic..

1- goto terminal and apply these filter rules..

1- iptables -I INPUT -p udp -m udp -s 10.1.1.0/24 –dport 5060 -j ACCEPT

2- iptables -I INPUT 2 -p udp -m udp -s 192.168.1.0/24 –dport 5060 -j ACCEPT

3- iptables -I INPUT 3 -p udp -m udp -s 0.0.0.0 –dport 5060 -j REJECT

4- service iptables save

lets understand what these rules  does..

first Rule (iptables -I INPUT -p udp -m udp -s 10.1.1.0/24 –dport 5060 -j ACCEPT)

this rule means -I switch use to insert any rule to the top of the chain in this rule -I Put this rule t the of INPUT chain. ok

this rule defines if any udp traffic comes from network 10.1.1.0/24 on port 5060 accept this traffic.10.1.1.0/24 is my local i m allowing my local network to connect my asterisk server to make calls in this rule define your local network.

Second Rule (iptables -I INPUT 2 -p udp -m udp -s 192.168.1.0/24 –dport 5060 -j ACCEPT)

this rule is same as the above in this rule i am allowing my another network which i wanna connect to my Asterisk server. in this rule i put a numeric switch that push the rule tothe desired number on the chain suppose if you the like that

eg: iptables -I INPUT 6 ……..

this mean this rule will fit on 6th number in the INPUT chain. anyhow..

Third Rule(iptables -I INPUT 3 -p udp -m udp -s 0.0.0.0 –dport 5060 -j REJECT
)

this rule means deny all the other networks which is on port 5060 and trying to connect my Server.

these three rule may save your server from attacks on port 5060.

2-  Use Mangle Table switches to filter traffic.

1- iptables -I INPUT -s  192.168.3.0/24 -p udp –dport 5060 -m recent –set –name ASTERISK
2- iptables -I INPUT -s  192.168.3.0/24 -p udp –dport 5060 -m recent –update –seconds 15 –hitcount 10 –name ASTERISK -j DROP

Rule 1 : rule 1 defines any traffic on source 192.168.3.0/24 on udp port 5060 will be mark as name ASTERISK

Rule 2 : rule 2 defines whatever comes to rule 1 on port 5060 nd hit 10 timesin 15 seconds will drop silently..

Note : these rules works as fail2ban works you can use same rules for http and ssh attacks. but be carefull if you put anything wrong you will be lockdown.
